I am a French scholar and writer, living in the Netherlands since 2011. I got my doctorate in history from Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales in 2002 and have taught in several universities and film schools in Austria, the Czech Republic, Lebanon, Slovakia, the UK, and now the Netherlands.
I also worked at the French embassy in Beirut, was a partner in a film production company based in Paris, and am now the happy father of two children.
Erasmus University Rotterdam employs me full-time as a Principal lecturer to teach international communication, intercultural communication, public diplomacy, film studies, and science fiction.
The Clingendael Institute invites me regularly to train diplomats and civil servants. I have run around 150 sessions on Public diplomacy and intercultural communication with more than 75 different nationalities.
I have published books in France, Belgium, and Romania on my research interests, propaganda and public diplomacy and started a research center dedicated to science fiction, CHIFT. I also write fiction books and published a novel in 2014. I am working on another novel, and will publish a book on superheroes in November 2021.
I regularly give talks about my passions and am lucky enough to have been interviewed in Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Greece, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Lebanon, and the Netherlands.
